Hace unos meses, os contábamos aquí que Sony Pictures estaba preparando ya la secuela de "Hancock", y que el director Peter Berg había prometiendo traer de vuelta para la misma a Will Smith, Charlize Theron y Jason Bateman. Sin embargo, las últimas noticias indican que el cineasta ha dejado de lado "Hancock 2" -y el remake de "Dune"- para trabajar a destajo en "Battleship", la adaptación cinematográfica del famoso juego de los barquitos. Y ahora que se ha confirmado que el filme de marras se centrará en un enfrentamiento entre la marina norteamericana y una horda de peligrosos alienígenas, me temo que pasará mucho tiempo hasta que Berg vuelva a dedicarse en cuerpo y alma a otra película.
Además, aunque el director confirmó que la cinta sobre el peculiar superhéroe está en su lista de proyectos a desarrollar, no será el siguiente en el que se embarque tras "Battleship", sino que se pondrá manos a la obra con "Lone Survivor" -un drama protagonizado por el único superviviente de un grupo de marines estadounidenses abatidos en Afganistán-. Por otro lado, Berg también ha comentado que es muy difícil que todas las partes implicadas en la secuela de "Hancock" (es decir, Will Smith, James Lassiter, Akiva Goldsman, Michael Mann y él mismo) puedan sentarse juntos en una mesa a hablar largo y tendido sobre el proyecto, y ponerse enseguida de acuerdo acerca de los detalles, pues ahora mismo todos andan muy justos de tiempo debido a sus diversos compromisos. Total, que, a este paso, habrá que empezar a hacerse a la idea de no volver a ver en la gran pantalla a John Hancock en acción.

Caray, ese director parece que solo hace adaptaciones y remakes. ¿¡Adaptar Battleship!? solo puedo pensar en algo peor: "Transformers". Imagina donde ha llegado el cine para que alguien haga eso.
